Elk Grove Village CCSD59

Managing numerous sites and large geography with a dedicated, on-site project manager

District leadership at Elk Grove CCSD59 has been proactively investing in its facilities over the past several years addressing infrastructure needs and eliminating deferred maintenance. This commitment to the learning environment has continued through Allied’s Summer of 2022 project. Under this effort, the district completed the replacement of mechanical systems throughout the district. Another district priority addressed through this project included improvements to the indoor air quality and improved air filtration levels. The district used these efforts to position themselves to not require large infrastructure capital expenditures in the coming years; allowing focus to remain on the learning environment.

In addition to replacing HVAC equipment and components, Allied upgraded all remaining lights throughout the district with Light Emitting Diode (LED) fixtures. These new LED fixtures provide improved light levels and light quality, improve control, extend fixture life, and consume less energy than their existing counterparts. Moreover, a cleaner, modern aesthetic is accomplished by replacing exterior wall-mounted and parking lot lighting with LED along with improved lighting for safety and security.

Given the large geography and number of buildings addressed in this project, it was crucial to have all necessary equipment, components, and material available in advance of the schedule. To ensure no delays, Allied ordered equipment early and had equipment and parts stored nearby. Following the last day of school, Allied mobilized equipment to each school to be prepared for immediate installation with fewer shipping delays or additional material handling. Having a dedicated project manager allowed work to be executed across the district’s wide geography and within numerous schools in a planned and measured approach. Weekly meetings with key stakeholders and daily visits to each school allowed continuous flow of information to the district and created a seamless coordination with other district projects occurring simultaneously.
